1. How did the Peace Pies journey begin?
It all began in 2007, serving at the local farmers market. We started out selling just pies, pizzas and coconuts, all raw, vegan and organic of course. Fast forward a decade and we now have 2 brick and mortar locations in San Diego county, and now participate in several farmers markets around the county. We are open 7 days a week and serve a full menu consisting of pies, pizzas, wraps, salads, entrees, dried goods and desserts.
2. What is the impact of raw food on sustainability of our ecosystem?
Raw food ingredients require much less packaging than standard processed ingredients. We serve our to-go food in compostable or recycled packaging with an emphasis on zero waste.
3. Tell us more about your composting system and the benefits of composting?
We compost our food scraps in a 3 stage system. First, we add dry debris from our property to our food scraps and let nature do its magic for a month or so. Then the compost is flipped into a second large bin where it continues to decompose. After another month, the compost is then flipped again and is essentially ready for use.
4. What are your most popular menu items?
Our most popular menu items are our Magical Mango Curry Wrap, Mystical Mushroom Quesadilla, and our Luna Tuna Wrap just to name a few.
